CORRECT BOILER PLANT FCA'S - CHARLESTON SC VAMC

Grimball has been contracted to provide construction management services on this Correct Boiler Plant FCA's project at the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC Pharmacy at the Charleston VA Medical Center. The scope includes integrating the controls of the condensate tank and the deaerator tank into a single control schedule with pump VFD's and level controls. Additionally, a new softened water system will be installed with increased capacity and piping routing to allow for the automated make-up control in both the condensate tank and the deaerator tank. 

RENOVATE & EXPAND PHARMACY – CHARLESTON, SC VAMC

Grimball Construction was contracted to join this exciting project providing construction services to renovate existing space and construct a new addition to the existing Ralph H. Johnson VAMC Pharmacy at the Charleston VA Medical Center. The work will be primarily located in Wing A on the first floor of the RHJ VAMC. The project features extensive phasing requirements which will allow the critical pharmacy to stay in operation throughout the project. Phases 1-6 will include extensive interior, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing renovations. The scope of work also includes a building extension to the pharmacy featuring a new storefront, canopy, and updated civil work.

RENOVATE BUILDING 2 FOR MEDICAL SURGICAL MODERNIZATION – SALISBURY, NC VAMC

Grimball Principals were honored to have been awarded yet another project at the Salisbury VA Medical Center in North Carolina. The Renovate Building 2 for Medical Surgical Modernization project was awarded through a negotiated request for proposal process (RFP). The project aims to renovate approximately 11,000SF in Building 2 related directly to insufficient size and number of patient rooms, support spaces, conditions of existing facilities, and lack of accessibility to ADA compliant bathrooms. The areas to be renovated include the entire unrenovated center area of Building 2 and 3rd Floor. The project includes ten (10) patient suites, nurse/physician offices, and support spaces, and new HVAC systems.

RENOVATE BUILDING 200 ROOF – MT. HOME, TN VAMC

Grimball Construction Principals worked to replace the Building 200 Roof at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tennessee.

CORRECT OPERATING ROOM DEFICIENCIES – SALISBURY, NC VAMC

Grimball principals worked diligently to complete this project at the W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. This project will renovate 15,000 square feet to primarily correct deficiencies related directly to the insufficient size of the VAMC operating rooms, number, and the configuration of those operating room suites. In addition, Grimball will improve the storage spaces for supplies, equipment, and staff. The project will create new operating rooms in separate locations immediately adjacent to and above to the VA’s Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and current Operating Rooms. Upon project completion the VAMC will boast new and enlarged multipurpose (hybrid) operating rooms, a redesigned nurse’s station, and increased energy efficiency.

PARKING GARAGE SAFETY – SALISBURY, NC VAMC

This project included demolition, general construction, and alterations of the existing parking garage at the W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. The scope of work included construction of a fall deterrent screen and supporting structure. Grimball principals were responsible for furnishing the fall deterrent screen supports and shop drawings.

RENOVATE/EXPAND BUILDING 11 FOR RESIDENTIAL CARE – SALISBURY, NC VAMC

Grimball principals were awarded Project 659-341, Renovate/Expand Building 11 for Residential Care at the W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina in 2018.

EXPAND OPERATING ROOM SUITE OVER BUILDING 1, D-WING

This project required Grimball principals to completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing material, and furnish labor, equipment, supervision and materials to perform work for the Expand OR Suite and Clinical Additional D-Wing.
